Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This page covers two separate things: this website (lumtw.com), and the Where Got Time? Android app. They collect different data and are described separately below.

Part 1 — This website (lumtw.com)

lumtw.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, and stores nothing in your browser. There is no account to create and no login. Most of what the site does happens entirely on your own device.

The contact form

If you send a message through the contact form, the name, email address and message you type are transmitted to Formspree, a third-party form service, which forwards them to my inbox and retains a copy on their servers. Formspree also receives your IP address as part of that request. I use those details only to read and reply to your message. I do not add them to a mailing list, share them, or sell them. The form is not encrypted end-to-end, so please don’t send anything sensitive through it.

The form also carries a hidden anti-spam field. It is never shown to you, and if it gets filled in the submission is discarded locally without being sent anywhere.

Live weather and time

The clock and weather shown on the site — and the matching sky in the 3D scene — come from Singapore’s data.gov.sg public weather API. Your browser requests that data directly, so data.gov.sg sees your IP address and the fact that a request was made. No information about you is sent with it. The clock is read from your own device.

Fonts and assets

Typefaces are downloaded at build time and served from this site, so your browser makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font host while you read the page. All images, scripts and 3D assets are served from the same origin.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub records standard server request data — including your IP address — under its own privacy practices. I have no access to those logs.

Links out

The site links to external projects and social profiles. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy, not this one.

Part 2 — The “Where Got Time?” app

Joe Lum built the Where Got Time? app as a free app. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. If you choose to use the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The personal information the app collects is used for providing and improving it. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described here.

Information collection and use

For a better experience, while using the app I may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information. That information is retained on your device and is not collected by me in any way.

The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Links to the privacy policies of those providers:

Log data

Whenever you use the app, in the case of an error I collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called log data. This may include your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when using it, the time and date of your use, and other statistics.

Service providers

I may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:

  • To facilitate the app;
  • To provide the app on my behalf;
  • To perform app-related services; or
  • To assist me in analysing how the app is used.

These third parties have access to your personal information in order to perform the tasks assigned to them on my behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Applies to both

Security

I value your trust in providing your personal information, and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Neither the site nor the app is directed at anyone under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If I discover that a child under 13 has provided me with personal information, I delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided such information, please get in touch so I can take the necessary action.

Your data

If you have sent me a message and would like it deleted, or want to know what I hold, ask and I will action it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, so you are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately once posted here, and the “last updated” date above will change.
